The Territory Labor Government will open a new permanent COVID-19 testing site at East Arm to replace the Marrara Testing site on December 30.
This will bolster testing capacity in the Top End with a dedicated workforce recruited to manage up to nine lanes of testing for Territorians.
The East Arm COVID-19 testing site, located at 26 Nebo Road, will be the distribution point for the collection of Rapid Antigen Tests for people travelling to a low vaccination rate remote community.
While bookings are recommended, drive-ins are welcome but will be required to register on site prior to completing their test.
The East Arm COVID-19 Testing Site will operate seven days a week from 8am to 6pm.
Quotes from Health Minister Natasha Fyles:
“The Marrara Testing facility has served an important role during this pandemic and could continue to be used in the future. We thank Netball NT for their support.
“We now have an opportunity to complete testing more efficiently with additional staff and testing lanes.
“COVID-19 is now in the Northern Territory so it’s vital for Territorians to stay updated, monitor symptoms and get tested when required.”
