Easter in Australia has dramatically changed. The Aussie spirit of mateship affords us the opportunity to look beyond ourselves

The Easter message is one of hope in the face of social Isolation, mental and emotional well being

With the Covid-19 pandemic in full swing around the world and the Government requirements for social distancing, social isolation and mental health issues are on the rise.

“More than ever, we need to be aware of the well-being of others,” said Pastor Brad Bonhomme Senior Pastor Horizon church, Sydney.

“Isolation can generate greater levels of depression, anxiety, loneliness, poor sleep quality and fearfulness.

“Our attentiveness to the needs of the lonely should be at the forefront of our hearts and minds. Love your neighbour by reaching out to someone this Easter.

“In the current messiness of the world, the Easter message is a message of hope.

“Its Friday but Sunday is coming. (Jesus died on Friday but rose again on Sunday)

“There is feeling of darkness but the hope we have is that this doesn’t last because Jesus is the light of the world.

“Although people are worried, the Easter message is one of comfort and care through Jesus’ death and resurrection” Ps Bonhomme concluded.
