Easter long weekend train service arrangements

Queensland Rail wishes to remind customers that public holiday arrangements will be in place across the Easter long weekend.

“Trains will run to a Sunday timetable across all lines on Easter Friday (19 April), Easter Sunday (21 April) and Easter Monday (22 April), with a regular Saturday timetable in place on Easter Saturday (20 April),” Queensland Rail’s Executive General Manager Citytrain Nick King said.

“These public holiday services arrangements will be in place, as Queensland Rail typically experiences a 68 per cent drop in patronage over the Easter long weekend.

“Due to essential track work, timetabled buses will also replace trains on the Springfield line between Darra and Springfield Central stations from first train Friday 19 April (Good Friday) to last train Easter Sunday (21 April).

“These works will involve rail and ballast replacement at Springfield station and general track maintenance throughout the closure.

“We encourage those travelling over the long weekend to plan their journey in advance by visiting or calling TransLink anytime on 13 12 30.

“From everyone at Queensland Rail, we wish our customers a safe and enjoyable Easter.”
