Residents of all ages can have a ‘wheely’ good time when Eats & Beats rolls into Flagstone on Friday, November 24.
Logan City Council’s popular community event will be combined with a junior skateboarding competition, the Logan Showdown, at the Flagstone Adventure Playground.
The Logan Showdown, which will feature the next generation of street skateboarding talent, uses modified competition formats to encourage fun, development and participation at all skill levels.
Competition among 13- to 16-year-olds will begin at 6.30pm.
Eats & Beats begins at 5pm with more than 20 food trucks serving savoury and sweet dishes to satisfy any skateboarding hunger.
Musical acts Roxbury, Dezzie D and the Stingrayz and Rosa Mack will soundtrack the evening.
Lifestyle Chair Cr Tony Hall said the Logan Showdown’s involvement in Eats & Beats was supported through Council’s Events Attraction Program.
“With skateboarding now an Olympic event, we’re proud to provide a pathway for Logan’s next generation of skateboarding talent and potential future Olympians,” Cr Hall said.
Division 11 Councillor Natalie Willcocks said the combined events would ensure a fun family night out in Flagstone.
“I look forward to seeing residents from all over the city soaking up the atmosphere and cheering our young skateboarders,” Cr Willcocks said.
Eats & Beats is on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Flagstone Adventure Playground, Flagstonian Drive, Flagstone from 5pm until 9pm. Entry is free.
