• Marrickville Mermaid
Written by Hilary Bell, music by Luke Styles, directed by Sarah Carradine, starring Christa Hughes (pictured) as Annette Kellerman.
An original song cycle about The Million Dollar Mermaid Annette Kellerman – Australian champion swimmer, inventor of the modern one-piece bathing suit and star of underwater ballet, Hollywood films and international vaudeville.
Free all ages performances. Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre, Enmore Park, Friday 12, Saturday 13, Sunday 14 August, 7pm and 8pm. Limited capacity. Bookings essential.
• EDGE Creative Trails
Marrickville, Sydenham, St Peters and Tempe artists throw open their doors for exploration, workshops and talks. Meet the makers, buy new works or take a street art tour. Book a guided tour on a vintage bus, go by foot, or take a self-guided tour.

Art and community unite in a showcase of St Peters, Sydenham and Tempe communities. Featuring live music, art installations, food, licensed bar with local beers, creative and family activities and community stallholders.
