A woman has died in hospital following an alleged sexual assault at an aged care facility on the Central Coast earlier this month.
Police allege a man broke into a facility in Bateau Bay about 12.40am on Wednesday 15 November 2023, where he assaulted and sexually assaulted a 90-year-old woman.
The woman was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries.
On Friday 17 November, detectives attached to State Crime Commands Sex Crimes Squad charged a man who remains before the courts.
Police have since been notified the woman died in hospital this morning (Tuesday 28 November 2023).
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
Investigations under Strike Force Easterbrook continue.
The victim’s family have requested privacy at this time.
