ELibrary resources to support home-based learning

Sunshine Coast Council Libraries have pulled together their best online resources to support home-based learning during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Term 2 has begun, but in light of the recent health advice to maintain social distance, students will be learning at home for the first five weeks, with schools only open for children of essential workers.

Sunshine Coast Council Mayor and Local Disaster Management Group Chair Mark Jamieson said parents and caregivers within our community were tackling a new set of challenges.

“Finding the balance between work, and home-based learning with your children is a big adjustment for many people,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“So, Sunshine Coast Council Libraries have pulled together a wide range of materials and resources to support parents, caregivers and children through this next phase of the pandemic.

“There are two resources available via the library website, one dedicated to younger children and another one for our teenagers.

“These resources all seek to assist with the learning process across a wide range of areas of study.

“There are also links to online language courses and STEM courses as well as helpful documentaries, eBooks and newspaper articles that will aid learning.”

To access these resources you just have to be a library member. If you aren’t already, signup for free via .
