Police are investigating a fatal house fire which occurred in Oakey overnight.
Emergency Services were called to a King Street home around 2.45am today to find the house destroyed by fire.
Sadly, a deceased person was located inside the home with forensic tests to be undertaken to identify the person.
The home owner and sole resident of the address, a 62-year-old man is unaccounted for with police preliminary inquiries indicating he was believed to have been home last night.
A crime scene has been established as officers work to determine the cause of the fire with preliminary investigations suggesting the fire is non-suspicious.
The fire is not related to the current bushfires across Queensland.
