A body has been found following a house fire on the state’s South Coast this morning.
About 3.15am (Sunday 6 December 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Dell Parade, Moruya Heads, about 30km south of Batemans Bay, following reports of an explosion and a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and after the blaze was extinguished, a body was located inside the home.
The body is yet to be formally identified, however, is believed to be the occupant, a man aged in his 80s.
Officers from South Coast Police District have established a crime scene and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
