Conducted by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, the 2022 Trainee Placement survey measures trainees’ satisfaction in areas including health, welfare, education and research opportunities.

Results showed the Nepean Hospital ED was highly valued by trainees for its appropriate, safe, and supportive training environment.

Impressively, all participants of the survey agreed that at Nepean Hospital ED:

  • Training needs are being met

  • Clinical teaching is provided that optimises learning opportunities

  • The number, acuity and complexity of cases offer appropriate training experiences

  • Opportunities are provided to teach and supervise junior medical staff

  • Team-based simulation training has contributed to their leadership development

Director of Nepean Hospital’s Emergency Department, Dr Cindy Hastings praised the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

“Looking after our trainees has been a focus for us for quite a while. We place as much time and effort into caring for our staff as we do our patients. It is great to see trainees who come through our department feel well supported and cared for,” says Cindy.
