An employee at Corrective Services NSW has been charged over an alleged relationship with an inmate at a prison in the state’s southern highlands.
Officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Corrective Services Investigation Unit (CSIU) commenced an investigation in April 2019, following allegations an overseer employed at the Berrima Correctional Centre was involved in a relationship with a 35-year-old female inmate.
Following inquiries, a 34-year-old man was arrested at a home in Mount Annan yesterday (Friday 7 June 2019).
The man was taken to Narellan Police Station and was charged with engage in relationship with inmate, cause safety risk to correctional centre.
He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday 2 July 2019.
