Enchanted Forest – season extended by popular demand

Additional sessions on sale 10 am Wednesday 28 October

Shellharbour City Council will extend its season for ‘The Enchanted Forest’ event, after the original sessions sold out within one day.

An additional 28 sessions spread over two new dates will go on sale at 10am this Wednesday 28 October.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said she was overwhelmed by the positive response to the Enchanted Forest event.

“Our community has embraced it with amazing enthusiasm. We knew this event would be well received but we were thrilled with the way people embraced it,” Cr Saliba said.

“The additional sessions will be held on 10 and 14 December. I am so happy that more people in our community can experience this wonderful new event.

“I am also pleased to announce that McDonald’s Warilla has joined Council as the event’s principal partner. Thanks to their support, we will be bringing McDonald’s Warilla carols to the stage for pre-show entertainment,” she said.

Under the current Government restrictions, Shellharbour City Council has had to reinvent major events, including the 2020 Carols by Candlelight.

The Enchanted Forest will be held 10 to 14 December at Blackbutt Forest. The event is a new and unique way for the Shellharbour community to come together for the holiday season.

The Enchanted Forest is a night time walk that transports patrons ‘through the looking glass’ with an array of magical light displays, visual art, music, animation and the completely unexpected.

Part game, part performance, the experience has been designed to surprise, excite and captivate the senses of all ages.

The Enchanted Forest is a ticketed event with different time allocations for small groups to make their way through the forest at 10-minute intervals.

Led by stunning lights, hidden faces, fairies, and glowing plants, with multiple key surprises along the way, the walk will take an approximate time of 30 minutes to complete.
