Residents of the Ballarat East community are invited to a drop-in session on Monday evening to launch Council’s Engaging Communities Program in Ballarat East.
The adoption of the Ballarat East Local Area Plan earlier this year identified community-based projects and actions which can now be commenced via the Engaging Communities Program, including:
• An off-lead dog park
• Activation of local facilities
• Improvements to public spaces
The Engaging Communities program has been in operation since 2013, with 12 suburbs having participated in the initiative to date.
It builds capacity in local communities and empowers residents to decide on the allocation of funds to deliver local priorities.
The drop-in session will be held on Monday 7 October between 5pm-6.30pm at the Eureka Hall, Stawell Street, Ballarat East.
