The Andrews Labor Government has made it easier and cheaper for boaters and fishers to get out on the water with every public boat ramp in Victoria now free for parking and launching.
Minister for Fishing and Boating Jaala Pulford visited Mordialloc Boat Ramp today to announce fees would be scrapped at the last public boat ramp to be made free across Victoria.
The abolition of fees at the Mordialloc boat ramp marks the final delivery of this major election commitment and will save families launching at Mordialloc around $155 a year on an annual parking permit – making it that little bit easier for people to enjoy some time on the water.
Boat ramps at Queenscliff, Frankston, Patterson River, Altona, Warmies, Phillip Island, Mornington Peninsula, Portland, Corinella, Lake Nagambie, Torquay, Port Welshpool, Tooradin, Lake Eildon, Werribee South and the Western District have all been made free in time for the busy boating season.
Boaters can also look forward to better facilities at Mordialloc as part of the Labor Government’s unprecedented investment in boating and fishing that will ensure every dollar of licence and registration revenue goes towards improving boating facilities and safety.
Better Boating Victoria is building on the success of the Government’s record investment in the Target One Million program, which includes a huge boost to fish stocking, a new native fish hatchery and better planning for fishing tourism.
Better Boating Victoria was established earlier this year to oversee the introduction of free parking and launching, and deliver upgrades and maintenance across the state, starting at Mordialloc, Queenscliff, Point Richards, Hastings, Rhyll and Cowes Jetty.
