Get ready for comics, cosplay, gaming, pop culture and more, as the long-awaited Comic Gong festival arrives in the Wollongong CBD on Saturday 11 May!
Proudly produced by Wollongong City Libraries, Comic Gong is a free, immersive festival for people of all ages and interests. This year the line-up is bigger and better than ever and includes a huge exhibition of artists and trade stallholders, live entertainment, cosplay competitions, fan group meet-ups, gaming experiences, workshops and more. This is one event you’re sure to not want to miss.

When and where is this festival being held?
Saturday 11 May, from 10am to 4pm across five locations in the Wollongong CBD – Wollongong Library, Arts Precinct, Wollongong Town Hall, Art Gallery, Town Hall and Lower Crown Street Mall.
If you want to stay later, live entertainment will continue until 5pm in the Crown Street Mall.
What does the day involve?
From superhero shows, rock ‘n roll wrestling and robotics, to Cosplay competitions, K-pop and the huge artist and trade exhibition, this is an unmissable day of fun and discovery for all ages.

Is this a free event and do I need a ticket?
Yes, entry to this event and any accompanying activities and workshops is completely free. No tickets required, just drop in.
The only activity you will need to book to participate in is our Tabletop Gaming sessions, which you can do online through the .

We encourage active transport wherever possible, like walking, riding, or using public transport, including the .
If you plan on driving, we suggest adding some extra time to your trip. While there are no road closures planned for the day, it may be a bit busier than usual on the roads around the event.
