Examining Efficiency and Effectiveness

The has commenced an inquiry into the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of a number of government programs as part of its statutory responsibility to examine Auditor-General’s reports.

The Committee has adopted a thematic approach to its inquiry and will examine seven Auditor-General’s reports which focus on program delivery. These reports include:

Efficiency of the Processing of Applications for Citizenship by Conferral

Efficiency of the Investigation of Transport Accidents and Safety Occurrences

Application of Cost Recovery Principles

Management of Small Business Tax Debt

Effectiveness of the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation

Coordination and Targeting of Domestic Violence Funding and Actions

Farm Management Deposits Scheme

, Chair of the Committee, stated, ‘As the new Committee commences its program of work in the 46th Parliament it is keen to examine whether government funded programs are achieving intended outcomes and whether these programs are using resources efficiently and effectively.’

Submissions from interested individuals and organisations are invited by Thursday, 24 October 2019. The preferred method of receiving submissions is by electronic format lodged using a My Parliament account.
