Exciting upgrades to Boat launching facilities at Eddystone Point ready for public use

Nick Duigan, Minister for Parks and Environment

The significant upgrades to facilities at Eddystone Point are now complete and ready to welcome the public for use.

Minister for Parks and Environment, Nick Duigan, said this comes just in time for the June long weekend.

“We know Tasmanians love nothing more than a long weekend of fishing,” Minister Duigan said.

The upgraded boat ramp, including the addition of a walkway opened yesterday.

“Excitingly, car parking facilities on site have also been upgraded to incorporate significant drainage and traffic flow improvements for both day visitors and boat trailer users,” Minister Duigan said.

“The facility upgrades aim to improve safety and enable easier boat access.”

The upgrades are part of the Tasmanian Government’s $1,015,000 North East Parks and Reserves Upgrades project.

“I know there were some disruptions while this work took place, however the now completed works provide improved outcomes and access for the community,” Minister Duigan said.

As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, the Tasmanian Liberal Government is improving facilities for recreational sea fishers and local communities, so everyone can safely enjoy the great Tasmanian tradition of catching a feed.
