Expressions of interest called for Seniors Festival 27 September

Wingecarribee Shire

Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling for expressions of interest from community groups, businesses and organisations interested in hosting an event during the 2023 NSW Seniors Festival.

The 2023 festival will run from Wednesday 1 February to Sunday 12 February.

Council’s Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing, Ms Carmel Foster, explained the importance of the festival for our Shire’s seniors.

“It provides an opportunity for seniors to develop new skills, meet people with similar interests and find out how they can get involved with other events throughout the year.”

Each year Council coordinates the festival with a program of events focusing on keeping seniors healthy, active and connected. The program features a range of community and Council-led events.

“This year’s theme is Celebrate Together and we’re looking for community-led activities that encourage social interaction,” said Ms Foster.

“NSW Seniors Festival is the largest celebration for seniors in the southern hemisphere. Try something new, meet new people and have a great time at hundreds of free and discounted events across the state.

“If you’re planning an activity, let us know so we can include it in campaign material to help promote your event and the festival.”

The festival will be promoted via a hard copy program of events, Council’s website, social media, email marketing and other opportunities once funding has been confirmed.

Expressions of interest must be received by 4 pm on Friday 21 October 2022.

To apply, visit or contact Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Community Development team on phone 4868 0888.

Wingecarribee Shire’s 2023 Seniors Festival program of events is expected to launch in December 2022.

The NSW Government is sponsoring the Seniors Christmas Concert on 13 December 2022 and the Premier’s Gala Concerts and the NSW Seniors Festival Expo in February 2023.
