Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling for expressions of interest from local environmentally sustainable living businesses and community groups to be part of our yearly Sustainability Festival, which will be held in Bowral, located in the Old Town Hall (next to the library) and in the surrounding courtyard on Saturday 30 September 11am – 4pm.
The festival is a free family friendly event designed to inspire and connect residents with local sustainable living experts.
Our aim is to have a collection of stall holders to promote sustainable living initiatives as well as waste education, disaster preparedness and resilience, providing opportunities for local residents to make connections. There will be food & drink stalls, live music, educational stalls, and a schedule of speakers to cover a range of subjects on sustainability.
Council’s Sustainability Officer, Morwenna Zabaks , explained the concept behind the festival.
“Sustainable living is often perceived as costly and people struggle to know where to start, we hope to help make this journey easier through providing connections locally” she said.
“Sustainability is an evolving concept and this year we have expanded to a more inclusive format.”
“The festival aims to facilitate conversations and support our local community in reducing emissions, reducing waste and preparing for natural disasters”.
Local businesses, community groups and environmental goods and service providers are encouraged to apply.
