Event managers, community groups and businesses interested in organising events are encouraged to apply now for a share of $360,000 available under the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program.
The aim of the funding is to support communities and businesses in the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
To be eligible for funding, events must be:
- open to the public
- free to attend or a small fee
- designed to reconnect communities
- held before 31 March 2023.
Applications must show how the event will rebuild community cohesion, deliver positive social outcomes and support local businesses.
Cheyne Willebrands, Manager Open Spaces said, “it’s important we secure this funding for event organisers as many events have been adversely impacted by COVID-19.”
“This program will support council to deliver events, boost tourism and create jobs in the process. Events bring communities and families together and make a real difference for our region.”
Expressions of interest are now open and applications close on Thursday 9 June 2022.
Application forms and information about the Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program is available on Council’s website
