The Volunteering WA Research Committee is an advisory committee to the CEO and management of Volunteering WA and reports to the Board of Volunteering WA, through the CEO.
The Research Committee includes researchers from most of the major universities in Western Australia, together with representatives from the volunteering ecosystem.
It meets quarterly and hosts research related events and networking sessions. It also supports the Volunteering WA Research Grant program which provides up to $20,000 per annum in funding to research projects to advance the sector.
Volunteering WA supports innovation in knowledge and practice in Western Australian volunteering through research:
- Utilising the expertise and experience of the Research Committee
- Providing financial and in-kind support for selected research projects
- Promoting networking amongst researchers interested in volunteering
- Communicating relevant research findings that impact on volunteering
