In some cases, ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in Clauses 1.26 (a), (b) and (c) of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015.
In accordance with the , ASQA will only consider applications for a longer transition period where it can be demonstrated that there would be genuine disadvantage to a cohort of learners if such an extension was not approved.
ASQA has recently approved an extended transition period for HLT42015 and HLT52015.
The extended training, assessment and certification issuance period for these qualifications ends on 14 December 2024. It permits new enrolments and commencements in this qualification beyond the 13 December 2023, however all students must have either completed or transferred to the replacement qualification by 14 December 2024.
The decision to extend the transition end date for this qualification was supported by the Association of Massage Therapists, Australian Natural Therapists Association, Massage & Myotherapy Australia, Hapi Physiotherapy, Massage Philosophy, Chi-Link and Victorian Massage and Myotherapy RTO Network.
ASQA consulted with the VRQA and TAC WA for this extended transition request.
These qualifications will remain on these RTOs scope of registration until the end of the extended transition period.
