Lifesaving clubs in Hobsons Bay will have greater access to parking near the beaches they patrol from this summer.
Hobsons Bay City Council approved a recommendation at its meeting on Tuesday night to provide more parking options for volunteers of the Altona and Williamstown lifesaving clubs.
The Altona Lifesaving Club will be provided with a further six parking spaces in the nearby Weaver Reserve car park, in addition to the four spaces it has on Council’s lifesaving club site. It will also be given 10 parking permits for volunteers to use, exempting them from metered fees in the area.
The Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club will be provided an additional six parking spaces near the four already allocated to it in the lifesaving club car park. It will also be given 10 parking permits, exempting volunteers from metered fees.
