The state is preparing for catastrophic fire danger with a second State of Emergency declared this morning – Thursday, 19 December 2019.
A statewide total fire ban is in place until Saturday with temperatures reaching mid to high 40’s across most of NSW today, continuing through till at least the end of the weekend.
There are numerous bush fires that continue to burn across NSW coast and rangers from the Queensland boarder down to the South Coast. There are currently 2 fires burning that are at Emergency Warnings, these are: Gospers Mountain (Ligthow) and Green Wattle Creek (Wollondilly).

are advising people with health problems, can be exacerbated by the smoky conditions should stay indoors, keep windows and doors closed and to avoid strenuous exercise. NSW Health also advises caution during long periods of extreme heat. Chronic health conditions may also become worse. Stay cool and hydrated over the coming days
