A man has died following a two-vehicle crash in the state’s Central Tablelands.
Shortly after 7.30am today (Monday 12 August 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a car crash along Mitchell Highway, Dunkeld, about 12kms west of Bathurst.
The driver of one of the vehicles – a 20-year-old man – died at the scene.
Three people – the female driver, and a female and male passenger – were trapped in one car before all were extricated.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the three people for varying injuries.
The women were flown to Liverpool Hospital and the man was taken to Orange Health Service by road for further treatment.
Officers attached to Chifley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
All westbound lanes of the Mitchell Highway remain closed near Marys Lane.
Motorists are advised to divert via the Mid-Western Highway to Blayney, then Milthorpe Road to rejoin the Mitchell Highway at Shadforth.
