An investigation is underway following a fatal car incident in the Northern Tablelands today.
About 12.30pm (Tuesday 12 November 2024), emergency services were called to Cooplacurripa – about 60km north-west of Taree – following reports a woman had been hit by a car trailer.
Officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District attended and despite the effort of emergency services personnel, she died at the scene.
She is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in her 20s.
A crime scene was established and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are underway.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
