The body of a man has been located in a vehicle in the Clarence River on the state’s north coast.
About 7am today (Saturday 19 January 2019), a member of the public located the vehicle submerged in the river off Rogan’s Bridge at Seelands, near Grafton.
Emergency services were contacted and the body of a 43-year-old man was extricated from the vehicle.
Investigations suggest the Toyota Landcruiser was travelling north over Rogan’s Bridge, when for unknown reasons it left the road and entered the water.
It is believed the incident occurred on the 16th or 17th of January.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District are investigating the circumstances of the crash and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
