The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal hit and run traffic crash in Urangan overnight, May 26.
Initial investigations indicate a silver Ford Falcon was driving along Boundary Road around 12am, when the vehicle hit a pedestrian walking along the road.
Emergency crews were called, where they located a woman in her 40s deceased at the scene.
Boundary Road, between Stringbark Street and Booral Road are currently closed while police investigations are ongoing.
A 41-year-old man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who have CCTV or dashcam of the car in the lead up to the crash, is urged to come forward.
