Sadly police can confirm a person has died in a structure fire at Sidmouth this morning.
Police and emergency services were called to the fire on Collins Lane about 8.20am.
The house and outbuildings were fully engulfed by fire when police and Tasmania Fire Service crews arrived and a person’s body was located inside.
A formal identification has not yet been conducted but it is believed the deceased is the man who lived at the residence.
A female resident was also taken to the Launceston General Hospital and is in a stable condition receiving treatment.
TFS fire investigators will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
A formal identification of the deceased will be conducted and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
