Police are investigating following a fatal single-vehicle traffic crash in Coopers Plains this morning, September 19.
Initial information indicates a car struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Kessels and Riawena Road around 4.50am.
The driver and sole occupant, a 19-year-old man, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The pedestrian, a woman, sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The intersection is expected to remain closed for several hours while emergency services attend to the scene.
Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area or expect delays.
Anyone with dashcam or CCTV from the area around the time of the crash is asked to contact police.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
