Police are investigating a fatal two-truck crash in the state’s north today.
About 6.30am (Tuesday 14 December 2021), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, near Midge Street, Coolongolook, following reports that two trucks had collided.
The driver of one of the trucks – a 49-year-old man – died on route to hospital.
The driver of the other truck – a man ages in his 70s – was uninjured.
He was taken to Bulahdelah Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Manning-Great Lakes Police District and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
