Federal Parliament Pro Hart Painting for Auction

Kevin Charles “Pro” Hart is an Australian world-renowned artist, born in Broken Hill New South Wales, and his popular painting ‘The Crucifixion’ once displayed in Federal Parliament is now up for auction at Lloyds Auctions.

This original oil painting of the crucifixion of Ned Kelly that featured on display at Federal Parliament was painted back in 1965 as part of a small series of ‘Ned Kelly Heads’ it is featuring as part of one of the most significant private collections of artworks for some time with many pieces by iconic Pro Hart and David Boyd on offer in a single auction.

“This is a very important and iconic piece of artwork amongst a collection of special pieces and we are honoured to be able to deliver it to its new custodians who we hope will display and enjoy the artwork for many years to come,” said Lee Hames, Chief Operating Officer for Lloyds Auctions.

The painting itself displays a range of techniques in colours, textures and shapes of Pro Harts home landscape, in which made him so famous and well know. It is executed with extreme attention to detail and experimentational techniques typical of his earlier work.

The artwork is also signed my Pro Hart in the lower right-hand corner.

Other important artworks also going up for auction from Pro Hart include Trouble in the Goldfields, Luna Park, Study for Race Day, and many others.

There are also other well-known artists such as Robert Dickerson, David Boyd, Albert Namatjira and more included in the online auction, so there is something for everyone.

“This is a massive auction filled with artwork from some majorly talented artists and important Australian history that is not to be missed,” continued Mr. Hames.

The Pro Hart artwork will be going up for auction this Sunday 17th October at 7:00pm.
