Festival fever in Top End

NT Government

A jam-packed Darwin dry season weekend offers plenty of activities for the whole family, with the eagerly awaited return of the Darwin Italian Festival and the Sunbuild Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival.

Both events are supported by Northern Territory Government through Northern Territory Major Events Company.

The flavours and culture of Italy will take over when Darwin Italian Festival bursts into life, after a four-year break, from 12pm to 11.30pm at Darwin Waterfront’s Fort Hill Parkland.

Mountains of pasta and pizza will be served up to crowds keen to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a slice of Italy.

A highlight on the program is food writer, actress and opera singer Silvia Colloca, who will host a not-to-be-missed cooking demonstration featuring mouth-watering recipes from her new book The Italian ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Cook.

Running over three days, from 5pm today, the family-friendly Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival will showcase music, art, culture and environmental initiatives from local groups across multiple stages along two kilometres of the beautiful Nightcliff foreshore.

Highlights include workshops, such as Egyptian drumming and belly dancing, dance performances from a wide range of groups, including Darwin School of Ballet, Darwin Samba Team and Tricky’s Hip Hop Studio, and music from the likes of Yung Milla, Gentrified Ferals, Poison Whiskey and David Spry and The Green Ant Mob.
