The supports individual art projects at regional or remote festivals and significant one-off community celebrations. These projects allow people living in or visiting regional or remote Australia to participate and connect through arts-driven experiences.
Some of the diverse projects supported through the latest round include:
- $107,410 for the 2022 York Festival’s opening event featuring Aboriginal artists and performers, Two Mountains Dreaming (WA)
- $71,500 for Byron Bay International Film Festival to deliver an extended reality experience, Outdoor XR Activation (NSW)
- $63,909 for the 2023 Castlemaine State Festival free opening night and concert showcasing two Australian acts; Frente! And Kian (VIC)
- $57,500 for Artology to deliver a water-based movement piece and installation, Squid Theory (TAS).
Around $1.3 million is provided through the program each financial year through two competitive funding rounds, usually opening in February and September.
