A fifth man has been arrested over a robbery at the Parafield Gardens Community Club last month.

About 3.20pm on Friday 6 September, two men armed with a firearm and a machete entered a community club on Shepherdson Road and threatened staff.

The two men stole cash before leaving the club. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Task Force, part of the Serious and Organised Crime Branch, yesterday arrested a fifth man, a 46-year-old from Munno Para over the incident.

He was charged with aggravated robbery and appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today (10 October). He was remanded in custody to reappear on 16 October.

Yesterday’s arrest comes after four men were arrested on 17 September over their involvement in the robbery. They were a 19-year old man from Salisbury Downs, a 47-year-old man from Parafield Gardens and a 26-year-old man from Parafield Gardens who were all charged with aggravated robbery.

A 30-year-old man from Parafield Gardens was also arrested and charged with assisting the offenders to commit the aggravated robbery.

All four were refused bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 18 September.
