Events are making a highly anticipated and strong comeback, and Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) is offering financial assistance to help organisers establish new events, or support annual community events hosted across the Dubbo Region local government area (LGA).
Round 2 of Council’s 2021/2022 Event Assistance Program is now open.
Under round 1 of the program (now closed and delivered), seven events collectively received $12,100 in financial assistance. The recent successful Wellington Vintage Fair and Swap Meet received a share of the round 1 funding along with the Man from Ironbark Festival scheduled for this year’s Easter long weekend.
“The region’s events calendar is once again studded with great event activity which is incredibly pleasing,” said DRC’s Manager Regional Events, Kim Hague. “It is also pleasing that Council can provide assistance to help build and grow these events, events which are largely driven by volunteer organisations working hard to provide our community with a rich variety of festivals, shows and sporting events.”
