Wollongong Botanic Garden is hoping you’ll find your inner botanist in the buzz of activities for Botanic Gardens Day on Sunday 26 May.
The garden will be buzzing with a range of free activities throughout the day from 10am, including behind the scene tours, hands-on gardening workshops and a garden play.
Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said that more than 70 botanic gardens in Australia and New Zealand will be marking Botanic Gardens Day to “highlight the significant work they do to ensure plant species survive into the future.
“I encourage everyone to come along to what will be a great family fun day in our beautiful botanic garden, and to support our efforts to recognise the significance of plants and to protect the diversity of flora locally and worldwide,” Cr Bradbery said.
Activities will include kids’ seed plantings, insect hotel making, a native plant sale, a lunch time band, and a barbeque and coffees.
