The CFA has declared that the Fire Danger Period will end at 1am on Monday 4 April in Knox.
This means fire activity restrictions have eased, and with a Permit to Burn, community members may burn off safely to manage and reduce bushfire risk on your property.

- checking the CFA website to see if a Total Fire Ban day has been declared. Burn offs cannot be planned on Total Fire Ban days
- ensuring your green waste is dry before burning off to reduce the amount of smoke produced. Most complaints from burning off relate to smoke.
- checking the weather forecasts for the day of your planned burn off and a few days afterwards. If conditions are windy, you should postpone your burn off
- notifying your neighbors about your burning off so they are aware
An alternative to burning off is to use our . Garden prunings, flowers, leaves and bark can be placed in your green waste bin for fortnightly collection. Bundles of branches and prunings can be tied up and booked for collection.
