A Nar Nar Goon home was severely damaged overnight after a fire broke out after its residents had gone to sleep.
District 8 Commander Don Wilkie said the two occupants had reported waking up to a house full of smoke. The fire was reported at 10.52pm.
The house was fully involved when crews arrived and was severely damaged in the fire.
Eight tankers and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus responded to the house fire, fighting the fire internally and externally.
Tankers had to ferry water from a water source a couple of kilometres away from the home.
Commander Wilkie said the house fire was not deemed to be suspicious but the cause was undetermined; a fire investigation will be undertaken today.
The two house occupants were transported to hospital by ambulance after showing signs of smoke inhalation.
