A man will appear in court today charged with firearms, weapons and domestic-related offences in Sydney’s south west.
Earlier this week, Officers from Camden Police Area Command received information regarding an alleged breach of AVO by a 26-year-old Tahmoor man.
Following inquiries, investigators stopped a vehicle in Tahmoor just before midday yesterday (Monday 17 February 2020), and spoke with the driver – a 26-year-old man – before he was arrested.
A short time later, a Firearms Prohibition Order was executed at a house on Milne Street, where police located a baton, knuckle dusters, fireworks, cannabis, shotgun shells and a sawn off 12-gauge shotgun.
The man was taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with;
- Six counts of breach AVO
- Five counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV)
- Two counts of Common assault (DV)
- Three counts of possess prohibited weapon
- Two counts of possess ammunition without permit
- Possess prohibited drug
- Possess explosive (fireworks)
- Possess shortened firearm
- Possess prohibited firearm
- Not keep firearm safely.
Police will allege in court the breaches occurred between April 2019 and November 2019, where a 21-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted on multiple occasions.
He was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today (Tuesday 18 February 2020).
