First Sod turned for North West Coastal Pathway

Michael Ferguson,Minister for Infrastructure and Transport

Today it was my pleasure, alongside my Braddon colleague Joan Rylah MP, to help turn the first sod on the $14.4 million North West Coastal Pathway project.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government has committed $4.8 million towards the new sections of the pathway, including links between Sulphur Creek and Penguin, Leith and Don, and Ambleside and Latrobe and through West Ulverstone.

These sections will add an additional 21 kilometres to the pathway that will eventually reach some 110 kilometres in total length between Wynyard and Latrobe.

We are pleased to be able to be a part of bringing this long-term vision for a pathway joining communities along the North West Coast into reality, with a total contribution of $6.6 million.

The North West Coastal Pathway is an asset for both local residents and visitors and a great example of what can be achieved when Federal, state and local governments work together.
