27 March 2023
Set to be held at Sydney’s modern International Convention Centre from 24-27 September this year, FDI World Dental Congress 2023 (FDIWDC23) is shaping up to be the largest event of its kind staged by the ADA and the biggest footprint of any event in Sydney since the pandemic.
But why should you put down your hard-earned dollars to attend?
Here are five compelling reasons why you should make room in your diary for what will be the premier dental event of 2023.
There’s a range of booking options including:
a. Early registration
Take $110 off the standard fee if you register by this Friday 31 March and secure yourself a spot at an event that is unlikely to be hosted by Australia for at least another two decades.
b. Group registration
We’re keen to welcome you and your team or study group or groups of friends to Congress, so we’ve provided a discount for groups registering with five people or more (conditions apply).
c. VIP registration
This tailored package includes tickets to additional events, VIP seating, printed collateral, dedicated registration staff, welcome pack and much more. You can register for the first time or upgrade an existing registration.
2. A roster of world-class speakers
An array of top-notch speakers is coming to Sydney for FDI World Dental Congress 2023, drawn from Australia and across the globe, all of them leaders in their respective fields. Highlighted speakers include:
a. Oral surgery specialist Prof. Tara Renton who has a particular interest in trigeminal nerve injuries and pain,
b. Periodontist, prosthodontist and oral surgeon Dr Georgios Romanos, who has a special focus on implant and laser dentistry, regenerative procedures periimplantitis therapy and;
c. Prof. Bill Scarfe, an oral-maxillofacial radiologist who has played a pivotal role in defining the use of Cone-Beam Computed Tomography.
3. Superlative scientific programme
FDIWDC23 features a high-quality main scientific programme offering more than 220 sessions, and 175+ hours of valuable CPD content over four full days of unparalleled professional learning. Major areas of content to be covered include both cutting-edge innovations, especially those of a digital nature and what former ADA President and Chair of the Scientific Programme Division, Dr Hugo Sachs refers to as “the bread-and-butter aspects of dentistry”.
4. Expansive exhibition
Exhibitions are an important feature of any Congress because they offer the rare opportunity to see products up close and in person, and to better understand services on offer by talking to representatives face to face, which will be facilitated in part by hosted stand events and late evening trading opportunities. The exhibition for FDIWDC23 will occupy 25,000 square metres over two huge floors of ICC Sydney, featuring an impressive selection of dental product and service companies and a chance for delegates to talk to ADA representatives directly.
It’s an invaluable way for delegates to get exposed to fresh ideas and approaches away from the usual distractions of day-to-day professional life and to see and talk about the products and services that will likely shape your professional journey in coming years.
5. Networking opportunities
A key element for many delegates of any event of this size is the chance to spend time with friends and colleagues they might otherwise rarely see. Whether the conversation is on the latest trends in digital dentistry or simply what’s going in their lives, a social programme including the Opening Ceremony, Gala Dinner, Sydney Night and Sporting Events will allow plenty of time to renew old bonds or forge new ones.
