Flavours of NSW to showcase at Fine Food Australia 2022

Deputy Premier, Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade

Some of NSW’s favourite food and beverage offerings will be on display at the Southern Hemisphere’s leading trade show for food and beverage manufacturers, Fine Food Australia 2022.

Acting Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said the NSW Government was proud to support 13 emerging NSW companies, with subsidies of up to $5,000 to enable them to attend the event at the Melbourne Convention Centre from 5-8 September.

“This is a chance to share a flavour of NSW with people right around the country and build opportunities to get them on more shelves – from garlic grown near Braidwood to specialty flours from Wakool and spirits that capture a taste of the Snowies and the Central West,” Mr Toole said.

“Food and beverage manufacturing is the biggest manufacturing sector in NSW and a huge economic driver, so I’m thrilled to see the majority of the businesses are from regional NSW.”

Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Stuart Ayres said the event would help boost local food and beverage producers in NSW.

“Our local food and beverage producers have been hit hard by a combination of COVID-19, floods and bushfires in recent years. We are proud to support them as part of efforts to encourage a strong economic recovery for the sector,” Mr Ayres said.

“This support will enable producers to drive new business opportunities, broaden their customer base and learn new skills to help drive this recovery.”

Goodradigbee Distillers CEO John O’Connor said exhibiting at Fine Food Australia would give the business valuable exposure to showcase its unique native Australian spirits.

“We’re proud to use native Australian hardwoods to produce some of Australia’s most unique and exciting beverages. Fine Food Australia will give our business a big boost and opportunity to expand our customer base,” Mr O’Connor said.

Supported businesses received exhibition and marketing training via an in-person workshop and will continue to be supported with expert business and specialist export advice from Investment NSW and the Department of Regional NSW.
