Millions of viewers across Australia tuned in to watch The Amazing Race Australia finale as the final three teams including the Territory’s own Deadly Duo Jasmin & Jerome rushed to the finish line in the Top End.
The iconic Darwin Waterfront and spectacular Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge featured in the last episode as the final three couples battled it out for the $250,000 grand prize. The metro-only audience reach for the finale episode was 1,187,728 viewers.
Territory tourism businesses received national exposure with the final three teams skydiving into Katherine with Top End Tandem, having a taste of the outback working with Tom Curtain’s working dogs and wild horses at the Katherine Outback Experience before taking in the Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge on a Nitmiluk Tours Helicopter flight followed by a canoeing adventure through the Nitmiluk Gorges.
Tourism NT partnered with Jetstar to co-sponsor the season and showcase the Territory to a national audience.
Jetstar has released a sale so The Amazing Race viewers and holiday hunters can book a bargain-priced trip to the Territory. From 4-9 December, viewers can fly to Darwin or Uluru from $89.
