Flinders University and CDW studios have scaled the global ‘Rookies’ rankings to be listed amongst the top 30 creative media and entertainment art schools and colleges in the world and the top ranked VFX Australian program.
The world-beating result was announced by , an international, industry-recognised organisation that evaluates the work of digital illustration and design students from the world’s leading digital media and art schools.
Over 500 academic programs submitted student work for the rankings which saw the Flinders University and CDW partnership maintain a #6 ranking in 2D animation, #8 in concept art, #15 in best visual effects schools and , making Flinders University the top ranked Creative Media & Entertainment school in Australia.

For the past decade, students graduating in the program have regularly won international accolades for their outstanding work and have gone on to showcase their talents by securing employment with international entertainment companies like Marvel, Warner Brothers and game development companies.
The strong rankings showing follows individual runner-up and finalist accolades for students selected in the Rookie of the Year, People’s Choice and Rookie of the Year Concept Art categories earlier this year.
Coordinator of the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Effects and Entertainment Design) Katie Cavanagh says the 2022 rankings result is a reflection of the programs success in fostering students at the cutting-edge of digital design, with the capacity to immediately develop outstanding work, in a booming global VFX industry.
