Bookings for free Flood Waste Collection for flood affected community members in the Hawkesbury will close on Thursday, 30 June 2022.
Community members must finalise and or book any outstanding flood waste collection requests by 30 June, via Council’s website on or by calling Customer Service on 4560 4444. Bookings are essential.
Recyclable waste can be placed in your yellow-lidded bin or taken to the Hawkesbury Community Recycling Centre. See for what can be accepted.
Waste Management Facility open for all Hawkesbury residents
The Hawkesbury City Waste Management Facility is open for all Hawkesbury community members 7 days a week from 8am to 4pm at 1 The Driftway, South Windsor.
Flood Waste will be accepted at the Waste Management Facility free of charge for flood affected residents only up until 30 June – please bring proof of address such as Driver’s Licence or Rates Notice. Reduced fees will apply for flood waste after 30 June until 31 August 2022. After 31 August full fees will apply.
Standard charges apply for other waste that is not flood waste and for residential properties that were not flood affected.
Waste will be checked at the gate. Loads containing asbestos will be rejected. Please follow landfill and gatehouse attendants’ instructions at all times.

When handling any refuse which has been contaminated with flood water or mud, personal protective equipment must be worn, especially gloves. After clean-up, protective clothing should be washed, and people should shower within the hour for health and safety.
