From January to March this year, we will be conducting an audit on floodlights at several local sporting reserves, with lights being tested between 9pm and midnight.
This audit involves testing a range of light performance measures such as lux, spill, glare and uniformity during night-time hours, as well as hotspot and pole integrity testing during the day.
Each light performance test takes between 60 and 90 minutes to complete.
Understanding the current performance of existing lighting systems at our sporting grounds will inform future infrastructure planning and allow us to ensure compliance with sports lighting minimum standards.
