Focus on Fabulous Fashion in 2021 Heritage Calendar photo competition

Now is the time to dig out your old photo albums and enter the 2021 Heritage Calendar photo competition which opened today.

The 2021 calendar theme, “Isn’t it Fabulous…Celebrating fashion we love to remember”, will showcase a mixture of stylish or unusual garments worn by fashion conscious ladies and gents, from beach frocks to flares.

Community Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said the annual heritage calendar provided an ideal opportunity to showcase curious aspects of our region’s history hidden in personal photo collections.

“This is the fifth year we have reached out to the public to feature photos from community life in the annual calendar,” Cr Baberowski said.

“We are certain this year’s fashion theme will uncover an exceptional array of photos showcasing the frills, flounces and flair of days gone by.

“We are inviting all community members to make a family event of this and dig out the old photo albums, get rummaging in drawers and send in their favourite photos of fabulous, fashion long gone, fads that may even have made a comeback or could become the next trend on the Sunshine Coast.

“The 2020 calendar was a sell-out, with its 12 months of photographs looking back at Fond Memories…Celebrating people, places and childhood fun, and I’m sure the 2021 calendar will also be hot demand when it’s released in October.”

Entry is free and the winning contributors will have their submitted photo published as part of the calendar, including credits. They will also receive a canvas print of their winning entry, five copies of the 2021 calendar to share with family and friends and an invitation to the calendar launch celebration.
