Former AFL player Wayne Schwass to speak on mental health at Cardinia Business Breakfast

Former AFL player, Wayne Schwass, will be speaking at the next Cardinia Business Networking Breakfast!

Cardinia Business is pleased to announce that 282 game AFL Football legend and mental health awareness advocate, Wayne Schwass, will be the keynote speaker at the second Cardinia Business Networking Breakfast for 2022.

Taking place on Wednesday 22 June at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, the focus of the breakfast will be on the importance of your mental health and emotional well-being on your business.

Cardinia based business owners who attend can receive a complimentary ticket for their partner as running a business is very often a family affair.

Wayne Schwass is one of the most successful football players in AFL history and who continues to make a name for himself. Born in New Zealand and raised in Warrnambool, Wayne began playing Aussie Rules football at the age of ten, and before long he was recruited to join the AFL.

Since retiring in 2002, Wayne has established himself as a highly respected AFL broadcaster on TV, radio, print and online. However, in addition to his work within the sporting world, Wayne has also become a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and was the driving force behind ‘Puka Up’, a social enterprise which focuses on mental health, emotional well-being, and suicide prevention.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jeff Springfield expressed how excited Council is to be able to provide this event for our local business community.

“The past two and a half years have challenged our local employers and employees alike, and supporting the individual and organisational wellbeing of our businesses has never been more important.”

“Having Wayne on-board is fantastic! For our local business owners to hear from such a well-known person who has experienced struggle with his own mental health will be invaluable.”

Also in attendance will be a range of business mental health specialists, who will be available to speak directly with business owners about their own specific needs to create and maintain a happy and productive workplace.

Tickets cost $34.00 and also include a hot breakfast. If you’d like to secure a spot for this not-to-be-missed event, get your tickets online at:
