A former detective senior constable from Crime Command has been charged following an internal investigation.
The 38-year-old man has been charged with theft, possess counterfeit currency and misconduct in public office.
The charges relate to an incident which occurred in April 2024 while the member was on duty.
The member resigned in November.
He will appear before a magistrates’ court at a later date.
